What does it really mean to be brothers? For Ohmar and Mychael, the answer is both messy and magical. One is bold, sports-loving, and quick with opinions; the other is imaginative, playful, and full of curiosity. They don’t always see eye to eye—but in their blended family, love, laughter, and forgiveness keep them connected.
Told in alternating voices, Oh Brother, My Brother captures the humor, rivalry, and heart of growing up with a sibling who sometimes drives you crazy yet teaches you the meaning of family. From noisy Saturday mornings and birthday celebrations to Sunday church fashion shows, this story reveals the real-life ups and downs that every child can relate to.
What makes this book different? At the end of each chapter, you’ll find Conversation Questions—gentle prompts designed to spark honest parent–child dialogue. Families can read together or separately, then come back to share feelings, memories, and dreams. These conversations build trust, confidence, and stronger family bonds.
Brandon D. Campbell, raised in a blended family himself, brings warmth, authenticity, and humor to this heartfelt tale. For children, it’s a story of belonging. For parents, educators, and counselors, it’s a powerful tool for connection.
More than a story, this is a journey of healing, resilience, and love—perfect for families and family counselors everywhere.

REVIEWS:
As a mental health professional, I found this book to be a powerful exploration of identity, family dynamics, and the longing for belonging. Through the lens of two half-brothers, the author captures the complexities of growing up in blended families, navigating differing relationships with their fathers, and making sense of adult behaviors that often feel confusing to children. The story offers an authentic look at how young people process love, loyalty, and rejection—reminding us of the resilience of children while also highlighting the profound impact of family systems on emotional development.
