J. Krishnamurti
J. (Jiddu) Krishnamurti (1895-1986) was born in India. At 14, leading Theosophists declared him a World Teacher and made him head of a worldwide Order. In 1929, after years of self-questioning, he dissolved the Order, repudiated its claims and returned all assets given to him, saying: “Truth is a pathless land . . . {Man} has to find it through the understanding of the contents of his own mind.” Until his death he tirelessly traveled the world, lecturing on the need to know the mind. He earned the respect of countless people throughout the world. Over 30 books document his talks.
