John the
Baptist, the cousin of Jesus, is one of the most intriguing
figures in the New Testament. This rock opera explores the
dynamic dilemma that John’s disciples may have faced when he
acknowledged Jesus as their long-awaited Messiah. Follows
the gospel narrative from John’s work at the river Jordan,
where he baptized multitudes, through his death at the whim
of Herodius and her daughter Salome, and culminates in the
death and resurrection of the Godman, Jesus of Nazareth. A
provocative and heart-opening performance. |
